Waihi North Project

OceanaGold · Waikato

OceanaGold expansion of the Waihi gold operation, including the Wharekirauponga underground deposit north of Waihi. Around NZ$1b of investment, consented through the Fast-track process, extending Waihi mining to 2043 with production from about 2032. Fast-track approvals were granted in 2026 (the first major mining project consented under the Act) and OceanaGold is progressing the next phase.
