Meridian Energy (majority state-owned) / Nova Energy (private) · Waikato

A 400MW solar farm at Rangitāiki on SH5 in the Taupō District, southeast of Taupō, developed jointly by Meridian and Nova Energy and among the largest in the country. Put at circa $660m, enough for about 100,000 homes. The first 200MW stage reached financial close with $300m of ANZ funding, with full output in mid-2027. Neither partner has committed to the second stage.
