A 400MW solar farm at Rangitāiki on SH5, southeast of Taupō and near the Hawke’s Bay border, one of the largest in the country, jointly developed by Meridian and Nova Energy. The site is in the Taupō District, which spans three regional council areas; this part of it falls under Bay of Plenty Regional Council. A first 200MW stage is targeted for mid-2026, with full output about a year later. Estimated ~$700m (indicative).
