Stella Passage Development: Port of Tauranga

Extension of Port of Tauranga's wharves: the Sulphur Point container berth by 385m in two stages and the Mount Maunganui wharves by a further 315m, with reclamation behind the new wharves and dredging of the Stella Passage. It uses existing cargo storage land inside the port's current footprint. The fast-track panel issued a draft decision in August 2026 proposing to grant every approval sought, subject to conditions, with a final decision expected in early September. No build cost or funding has been published, so no figure is shown.
