SH76 Brougham Street Upgrade

Upgrade of SH76 Brougham Street, Christchurch's main southern arterial between the Southern Motorway and the central city, delivered by NZTA in two stages for about $40m. Stage one, Barrington Street to west of Selwyn Street, adds a separated walking and cycling bridge (lifted into place in June 2026) and changes at the Barrington ramps to cut queue-jumping; Fulton Hogan is building it for completion around 2027. Stage two adds T2 lanes once property acquisition and consenting are complete.
