SH1 Papakura to Drury Upgrade

A $423m NZ Upgrade Programme widening of SH1 to three lanes each way over about 6km from Papakura to Drury South, with rebuilt Papakura and Drury interchanges, wide shoulders for future buses and a shared path. Alongside it KiwiRail has added three stations: Drury and Paerata opened on 2 August 2026, the first passenger services there since 1972, and Ngakoroa is under construction for 2027.
