O Mahurangi Penlink: Whangaparāoa Peninsula

A new 7km road connecting Whangaparaoa Road to SH1 at Redvale, serving the Whangaparaoa Peninsula (37,650 residents at the 2023 Census) in the wider Hibiscus Coast urban area (68,980 at June 2025). NZTA modelling expects peak savings of 22 to 26 minutes. Tolled from opening at $3.00 peak and $2.00 off-peak for a full-length light-vehicle trip. Initially allocated $830m, with no revised total published. Completion is forecast late 2029 after a delay announced in March 2026 on the Weiti River Bridge.
