Multi-lane arterial from Manukau to Drury serving fast-growing south Auckland, part of the RoNS programme reinstated by National in 2023. Stage 1, shown on the map, runs about 7km from the SH1 Manukau interchange along Redoubt Road to Alfriston; later stages to Drury are unfunded. NZTA's Stage 1 investment case puts it at $1.75-2.05b. In July 2026 Mill Road moved to the RoNS slow track: NZTA lists Stage 1 as funding-dependent but implementation-ready from 2027, with no confirmed construction start, while design and consenting continue.
