KiwiRail: Rail Network Upgrades

KiwiRail · National / Multi-region

KiwiRail’s national rail network programme (track, bridges, resilience renewals). Budget 2026 fully funded the network for three years at $1.075b (2027–30), plus $106.9m for Auckland and Wellington metropolitan rail renewals. National cancelled the $1.4B Rail Resilience and Decarbonisation Fund in 2023; network funding now flows through the NLTF.
